Nail Upgrades & Charms
In Hollow Knight, upgrading your Nail is crucial for combat, and charms provide unique abilities. Early in King's Pass, you can find Geo caches by striking them with your Nail. You'll also learn about collecting SOUL and using FOCUS from a tablet. Charms like Snare Setter and Maiden's Soul are acquired through specific quests and locations, enhancing your Knight's capabilities.
- King's Pass Exploration:
- Head left from the start for Geo.
- Proceed right, destroying gates and encountering 2x Crawlid.
- Before elevated platforms, drop down and go right for another Crawlid and Geo.
- Jump up platforms, go left to read a tablet about SOUL and FOCUS.
- Continue left past the tablet, encounter 1x Vengefly, and find a breakable door for Geo.
- Return and go to the top left with blue flowers to find a Lifeblood Egg. Destroy it and blobs for 2x Lifeblood Mask, granting temporary health.
- Go right, defeat a Crawlid, and walk slowly at the edge of a collapsing floor to drop into a small corridor with Geo.
- Acquiring Charms:
- Bell Hermit: Found in a large pipe home underneath Bellhaven, accessible by going right through a wall in the Bellway room and then down.
- Maiden’s Soul: Obtained from the Ruined Temple Maiden after the first boss, before Bone Bottom town.
- Snare Setter: Located in the Weavernest region. Access it by opening the Needlein door in Moss Grotto, then it's two layers directly above the bench at the bottom of the map.
- Using Charms for Endings:
- With Maiden's Soul and Snare Setter, you can hand in the wish.
- Defeat the final boss and hold Y or Triangle to snare her instead of binding her. This leads to Act 3 and the Silk and Soul ending.
