Beast's Den & Herrah the Beast

The Beast's Den is a sub-area within Deepnest where Herrah the Beast, one of the Dreamers, resides. Accessing Herrah is a critical step in the main questline. There are multiple ways to enter the Den, including a secret passage that bypasses much of the area.

Herrah the Beast is one of the three Dreamers, alongside Lurien the Watcher and Monomon the Teacher. In early development, Herrah was known as Hegemol. To reach Herrah, you can either:

Normal Entry: Sit on the bench in the entrance room and allow yourself to be trapped.
Secret Passage: There is a narrow vertical passage in the ceiling of the entrance room near the right wall. This can be reached with a combination of a dash (or super dash) and a double jump. Using this secret passage allows you to avoid most of the Beast's Den, with only one Stalking Devout blocking the way to Herrah and a Grub.

Note: If Herrah is slain without entering the Den by being trapped in the entrance room, a Hallownest Seal relic will be permanently inaccessible. Relics do not count towards game completion.

Within Deepnest, you may also encounter a character stuck in spider webs. You have the choice to save him or leave him. If saved, he will complain about the Knight's interference.
