Soul is a vital resource in Hollow Knight, serving as the fuel for both The Knight's powerful spells and its ability to heal. The Knight generates Soul by striking enemies with its Nail. Each successful hit fills a portion of the Soul meter, represented by a series of orbs at the top of the screen. Once a sufficient amount of Soul is gathered, The Knight can either cast a spell or perform the Focus action to heal. Healing consumes one orb of Soul and takes a few seconds to complete, leaving The Knight vulnerable. Spells, on the other hand, consume varying amounts of Soul depending on the spell's power.
