The familiar layout remains, but the threats have escalated significantly. Your primary goal here will often be progression to new areas, but there are still secrets to uncover and resources to gather.

Navigating the Infected Crossroads

Your journey through the Infected Crossroads will involve revisiting familiar paths with new challenges. Always be prepared for ambushes and environmental damage.

Key Locations & Objectives:

  • Stag Station (Infected): The central Stag Station is still accessible, but the area around it is heavily infected. Use this as a fast travel point, but be wary of the increased enemy presence.
  • Salubra's Shop (Infected): Salubra's shop remains a safe haven for purchasing Charms and Charm Notches. The path to her shop is now guarded by Infected Vengeflies and Aspid Hunters.
  • Ancestral Mound (Infected): The path to the Ancestral Mound, where you first acquired Vengeful Spirit, is now teeming with Infected Husks. There are no new items here, but it can be a good place to practice combat against the infected variants.
  • Greenpath Entrance (Infected): The passage leading to Greenpath is still open. Be cautious of the volatile orange sacs that explode upon contact, dealing damage.
  • Fungal Wastes Entrance (Infected): The route to Fungal Wastes is also accessible. This path can be particularly challenging due to cramped spaces and numerous Infected enemies.

Enemies of the Infected Crossroads:

The Infection has mutated many of the Crossroads' inhabitants. Be prepared for their enhanced aggression and new attack patterns.

  • Infected Husk: Stronger, faster versions of the standard Husk. They often explode upon death, so keep your distance.
  • Infected Vengefly: These flying enemies are more erratic and aggressive. Their dive attacks are quicker and harder to dodge.
  • Aspid Hunter: A more dangerous variant of the Aspid Mother, these creatures fire multiple projectiles and are often found in groups. Prioritize taking them out quickly.
