Calyx (Golden & Crimson)
Calyxes are essential endgame activities in Honkai: Star Rail, serving as the primary source for character Ascension Materials and Trace Materials. These challenges come in two main forms: Golden Calyxes for character EXP materials and Crimson Calyxes for Trace materials. Farming these Calyxes efficiently is crucial for leveling up your characters and unlocking their full potential.
Golden Calyxes reward players with 'Lost Gold' (character EXP) and 'Condensed Aether' (Relic EXP). Crimson Calyxes, on the other hand, provide specific Trace materials needed to upgrade character abilities, such as 'Destroyer's Final Traces' or 'Arrow of the Beast Hunter'. The materials dropped are specific to certain Paths, meaning you'll need to farm different Calyxes depending on the characters you are building.
Here's a breakdown of how to approach Calyx farming:
- Golden Calyxes: These are vital for quickly leveling up your characters' base stats. The materials obtained are universal, so any character can benefit from them. Prioritize farming these when you have new characters to level or need to quickly boost a character's level to unlock higher-tier Traces.
- Crimson Calyxes: These are more specialized. Each Crimson Calyx drops materials for a specific Path (e.g., Destruction, Hunt, Preservation, Nihility, Harmony, Erudition, Abundance). You'll need to identify which materials your target characters require and farm the corresponding Crimson Calyx. For example, characters on the Destruction Path will need materials from the 'Destroyer's Final Traces' Calyx.
- Difficulty Levels: Calyxes have multiple difficulty levels, with higher levels offering better drop rates and more materials per run. It's recommended to tackle the highest difficulty you can consistently clear.
- Stamina (Trailblaze Power): Farming Calyxes consumes Trailblaze Power, so plan your farming sessions accordingly. It's often best to focus on the materials you need most urgently.
- Weekly Limits: While Calyxes themselves don't have weekly limits, the materials they drop are essential for character progression, making them a constant farming priority.
Consider using characters with the corresponding elemental weaknesses of the enemies within the Calyxes to speed up your runs. For instance, if a Crimson Calyx features enemies weak to Lightning, bringing a Lightning character can help break their Toughness more quickly.
