Advanced Character Strategies
Welcome, elite Injustice players! This section delves into advanced character strategies, moving beyond basic combat to optimize your team's potential. We'll focus on maximizing credit generation, exploiting character synergies, and leveraging gear effectively to dominate even the toughest challenges.
Credit Farming Optimization
Credits are the lifeblood of progression in Injustice: Gods Among Us. While normal play and first-time stage completion bonuses are foundational, truly advanced players understand how to maximize their credit income efficiently.
- Targeted First-Time Completion: Prioritize stages that offer significant first-time completion bonuses, especially those granting free characters or large credit payouts. Consult your in-game map for these indicators.
- Replay High-Yield Stages: Once you've hit a "brick wall" in progression, identify the highest-credit-per-energy stages you can consistently clear quickly. For many players, this often involves replaying earlier "Bonus Battle" stages once your team is sufficiently leveled.
- Semi-Auto Farming Techniques:
- Early Game Darkseid Strategy: If you possess Darkseid (especially early in the game), his passive ability to boost bronze character stats can turn low-cost bronze teams into credit-farming machines. Pair Darkseid with two strong bronze characters (e.g., Bronze Lex Luthor for power generation, Bronze Flash for speed) and repeatedly clear early, low-energy stages. The low energy cost and quick fight times make this incredibly efficient.
- High-Level Bronze/Silver Teams: Even without Darkseid, a fully promoted and leveled bronze or silver team can efficiently farm credits from early stages. The goal is speed and minimal energy expenditure. Focus on characters with quick basic attacks and specials.
- Bi-Weekly Task Exploitation: Always keep an eye on the bi-weekly tasks. These often provide substantial credit rewards for specific actions, like winning a certain number of battles with a particular character type or using specific special attacks. Integrate these tasks into your farming routine.
Gear System Mastery
The Gear system, introduced in update 1.07, revolutionized character customization and power. Understanding how to select, evolve, and shatter gear is crucial for advanced play.
Gear Selection and Synergy
Choosing the right gear involves more than just raw stats; it's about synergy with your character's abilities and your team composition.
- Power Generation Focus: For characters reliant on special attacks (e.g., Doomsday, Martian Manhunter), prioritize gear that boosts power generation. Examples include the Powered Escrima Sticks (found in Gear Lockers or as rewards) or the LexCorp Gauntlets (from the LexCorp Set).
- Damage Amplification: For your primary damage dealers (e.g., Arkham Origins Batman, Raven/Rebirth), equip gear that increases basic attack damage, critical chance, or critical damage. The Promethium Longsword or Riddler's Cane are excellent choices for basic attack enhancement.
- Survivability and Healing: For tanks or characters you want to keep in the fight longer (e.g., Black Adam, Superman/Regime), gear that provides health regeneration on special attacks or blocks, or simply boosts maximum health, is invaluable. The Fourth World Godly Mace (from the Fourth World Set) offers excellent health regeneration.
- Specific Special Attack Boosts: Some gear specifically enhances a character's Special 1, 2, or Super Move. For instance, the Astro Harness can provide a temporary shield on tag-in, while the Tantu Totem can refund power on special use. Match these to your character's most impactful special.
Gear Evolution and Shattering
Evolving gear significantly enhances its primary and secondary effects. Shattering unwanted gear provides Shard currency, essential for evolution.
- Prioritize 3-Star and 4-Star Gear: While 1-star and 2-star gear can be useful early on, focus your Shard investment on evolving higher-tier gear. Their evolved stats are far superior.
- Strategic Shattering: Don't hoard low-star gear. Shatter duplicates and any gear that doesn't fit your team's strategy to accumulate Shards. Remember, you need specific colored Shards (Red, Blue, Green, Purple) for different gear types.
- Evolve Key Set Pieces: Gear sets (like the LexCorp Set or Fourth World Set) offer powerful bonuses when multiple pieces are equipped. Prioritize evolving these pieces to unlock their full potential.
- Max Out Core Gear First: Identify 3-5 pieces of gear that are universally beneficial or critical to your main team. Fully evolve and breakthrough these pieces before spreading your Shards too thin.
Advanced Team Composition and Synergy
Beyond individual character strength, advanced play hinges on how your characters interact within a team.
- Power Generation Teams: Combine characters with passive power generation (e.g., Martian Manhunter, Animated Batman Beyond) with gear that further boosts power. This allows for rapid special attack spamming, overwhelming opponents.
- Tag-In Damage Teams: Utilize characters with powerful tag-in abilities (e.g., Arkham Knight Batman's stun, Rebirth Raven's power drain). Pair them with gear that enhances tag-in effects or provides immediate power.
- Heal-on-Special Teams: Characters like Doomsday or Regime Superman, when equipped with gear that heals on special attack use (e.g., Fourth World Godly Mace), can become incredibly resilient, allowing them to outlast opponents in prolonged fights.
- Stun/Crit Teams: Build teams around characters who can reliably stun opponents (e.g., Arkham Origins Batman's Special 1) and then follow up with high-critical-damage characters. Gear that boosts critical chance and damage is paramount here.
