Challenges & Feats
Beyond the main story and standard multiplayer bouts, Injustice: Gods Among Us offers a robust system of Challenges and Feats designed to test your skills, expand your roster, and reward dedicated players. These range from daily tasks to long-term accomplishments, providing a constant stream of objectives and valuable resources.
Daily Challenges: Quick Gains
Daily Challenges are your bread and butter for consistent resource acquisition. These refresh every 24 hours and typically involve straightforward tasks that can be completed in a few matches. Prioritize these to maximize your daily earnings.
- Objective Examples:
- Win 3 matches with a Gold character.
- Perform 5 Special Attacks.
- Defeat 10 opponents using Basic Attacks.
- Collect 5,000 Power Credits.
- Rewards: Completing Daily Challenges usually grants a small amount of Power Credits, Alliance Credits, or sometimes even a Bronze Booster Pack.
- Strategy: Check your Daily Challenges immediately upon logging in. Often, you can complete several simultaneously during your regular gameplay sessions. For instance, if a challenge requires using a Gold character, ensure your active team includes one.
Weekly Challenges: Character Unlocks & Gear
Weekly Challenges are more substantial, offering the opportunity to unlock new characters or acquire exclusive Gear Cards. These challenges are structured into a series of battles with increasing difficulty and specific character requirements. They typically last for one week, so plan your efforts accordingly.
Challenge Structure & Progression
Each Weekly Challenge consists of five "Tiers," with each Tier containing a set number of battles. The difficulty scales significantly as you progress.
- Standard Battles: The initial battles in each Tier are standard 3-on-3 fights.
- Bonus Battles: After completing the standard battles in a Tier, a "Bonus Battle" often appears, offering additional rewards or a unique challenge modifier.
- Boss Battles: The final battle of each Tier is a "Boss Battle" against a powerful single opponent or a formidable team.
Specific Walkthrough: Unlocking "Blackest Night Batman"
Let's take a common example: the "Blackest Night Batman" Weekly Challenge. This challenge often requires specific character types to progress through its Tiers.
- Tier 1: "The Awakening"
- Requirement: No specific character required.
- Strategy: Use your strongest Bronze or Silver characters to conserve your Gold characters for later Tiers. Focus on building up Special Attacks.
- Reward: Power Credits, sometimes a Bronze Booster Pack.
- Tier 2: "Shadows of the Past"
- Requirement: Must include at least one "Green Lantern" character. (e.g., Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Regime Green Lantern)
- Strategy: Pair your required Green Lantern with two strong Gold characters. Utilize Green Lantern's power generation or defense buffs if available.
- Reward: Power Credits, sometimes a Silver Booster Pack.
- Tier 3: "The Oath"
- Requirement: Must include at least one "Arkham" character. (e.g., Arkham Origins Batman, Arkham Knight Batman, Arkham Harley Quinn)
- Strategy: Arkham characters are generally powerful. Use their synergy to your advantage. Arkham Harley Quinn's healing or damage buffs can be crucial here.
- Reward: Power Credits, sometimes a Gear Locker.
- Tier 4: "Blackest Night Descends"
- Requirement: Must include at least two "Gold" characters.
- Strategy: This Tier significantly ramps up difficulty. Ensure your Gold characters are fully equipped with evolved Gear Cards. Focus on characters with high damage output or strong defensive capabilities. Characters like "Animated Batman Beyond" for quick specials or "Regime Superman" for raw damage are excellent choices.
- Reward: Power Credits, sometimes a specific 1-Star or 2-Star Gear Card.
- Tier 5: "The Lantern's Resolve"
- Requirement: Must include "Blackest Night Batman" (the challenge character) in your team. (This means you need to have acquired him previously or purchase him from the store if available).
- Strategy: This is the final and most challenging Tier. If you don't own Blackest Night Batman, you can often purchase a temporary "Challenge Pack" that guarantees him, or use a "Skip" token (though this is not recommended for efficiency). Once you have him, pair him with your two strongest Gold characters. Focus on utilizing his unique passive abilities and Special Attacks.
- Reward: A copy of "Blackest Night Batman" (allowing for promotion), substantial Power Credits, and potentially a rare Gear Card.
General Weekly Challenge Tips:
- Character Roster: Maintain a diverse roster of Bronze, Silver, and Gold characters to meet varied requirements.
- Gear Cards: Evolve and level up your Gear Cards. A strong Gear setup can make a significant difference, especially in later Tiers. The LexCorp Gauntlets, Riddler's Cane, and Ra's Al Ghul's Scimitar are excellent all-around choices for power generation and damage.
- Energy Management: Use Energy Recharges strategically. Don't waste them on easy battles. Save them for Boss Battles or when you're close to completing a Tier.
- Skip Tokens: Use "Skip" tokens only as a last resort, as they are a valuable resource.
Feats: Long-Term Accomplishments
Feats are long-term achievements that track your overall progress and mastery of the game. They don't have a time limit and are designed to be completed over many hours of gameplay. They are categorized and offer significant rewards upon completion.
Types of Feats:
- Combat Feats:
- Objective Examples: Perform 1,000 Special Attacks, Defeat 5,000 opponents, Land 500 Critical Hits.
- Rewards: Large sums of Power Credits, sometimes Nth Metal or specific rare Gear Cards.
- Collection Feats:
- Objective Examples: Collect 50 unique characters, Fully Evolve 10 Gear Cards, Acquire all Bronze characters.
- Rewards: Alliance Credits, Nth Metal, or exclusive character skins.
- Multiplayer Feats:
- Objective Examples: Win 100 Online Battles, Reach Top 1% in a Season, Perform 50 Tag-Ins in Multiplayer.
- Rewards: Nth Metal, exclusive Multiplayer Gear, or rare character cards.
Feat Strategy:
Feats are best approached passively. Focus on enjoying the game and completing Daily/Weekly Challenges, and you'll naturally progress through many Feats. However, if you're aiming for a specific Feat, you can tailor your gameplay:
- Grinding: For "Defeat X opponents" or "Perform X Special Attacks," repeatedly play early story mode battles or Bonus Battle 6 (BB6) to quickly rack up numbers.
- Character Focus: For collection feats, prioritize opening Booster Packs that have a higher chance of new characters or specific rarities.
- Gear Evolution: Consistently collect and shatter duplicate Gear Cards to gather Shards for evolution.
By actively engaging with Challenges and passively working towards Feats, you'll not only enhance your gameplay experience but also significantly boost your roster's power and your overall resource accumulation in Injustice: Gods Among Us.
