The only true 'collectibles' in Inside are the 14 hidden Orbs (also referred to as 'Light Switches' or 'Secret Rooms'). These are not equipment or items that the boy carries, but rather interactive elements within the environment that, when activated, contribute to unlocking the game's secret ending. Finding them requires keen observation and often solving additional, optional puzzles. They are a meta-game objective rather than a functional item.
