Taro Phase 1: Corrupted Taro
The first phase of the Taro boss fight pits Kena against his corrupted, physical form. Corrupted Taro is a lumbering but powerful adversary, characterized by wide, sweeping melee attacks and a few devastating charged abilities. His primary threat comes from his sheer physical presence and the wide arc of his swings, which can easily catch Kena if she's not positioned correctly. During this phase, the emphasis is on defensive maneuvering and identifying brief windows of opportunity to strike.
Your main strategy here should be to stay mobile, utilizing Kena's dodge to evade his attacks. His attacks often have a slight wind-up, giving you a visual cue to anticipate them. After he completes a combo or a charged attack, there will be a brief moment where he is vulnerable. This is your prime opportunity to land a few hits with your staff. The Rot can be used to distract Taro momentarily or to deal a small amount of damage while you reposition. Be cautious of his ground pound attack, which has a significant area of effect; a well-timed dodge is essential. Avoid getting greedy; landing one or two hits and then retreating to safety is far more effective than trying to string together long combos that leave you open to retaliation. Conserve your Spirit energy for healing or Rot abilities if necessary.
