The Rot Explained
The Rot are small, adorable, and incredibly important companions that Kena encounters early in her journey. These mischievous spirits are drawn to Kena's presence and quickly become her loyal allies. While they may appear insignificant at first, the Rot are crucial to Kena's success, assisting her in combat, solving environmental puzzles, and even helping her to heal the corrupted land. Their unique abilities, when directed by Kena, can overcome obstacles that would otherwise be insurmountable.
The Rot are essentially nature spirits that have been corrupted or lost their way. Kena's role as a Spirit Guide allows her to purify and guide them, harnessing their collective power. In combat, the Rot can be commanded to attack enemies, distract them, or even deliver powerful spirit-infused attacks. Outside of combat, they can interact with specific environmental elements, such as activating platforms, moving objects, or clearing corrupted flora. As Kena progresses, she can upgrade the Rot's abilities, making them even more effective.
