Cursed Chests are challenging optional encounters in Kena: Bridge of Spirits that serve as a test of your combat prowess and strategic thinking. These chests are not merely loot containers; they are guardians of powerful rewards, protected by formidable challenges. Upon interacting with a Cursed Chest, Kena will be transported to a special arena, and the chest will unleash a wave of corrupted enemies. To claim the treasure within, you must successfully defeat all the enemies that spawn within a set time limit or under specific conditions, often without taking damage or using certain abilities.

These chests are designed to push players to their limits, requiring them to master Kena's combat mechanics, effectively utilize the Rot's abilities, and adapt their strategies on the fly. The difficulty of the challenges can vary, with some Cursed Chests presenting waves of standard enemies, while others might pit you against tougher, more specialized foes or introduce environmental hazards. Successfully overcoming these trials is highly rewarding, as the chests offer some of the most substantial rewards in the game, including significant amounts of Karma, rare crafting materials, and sometimes even unique cosmetic items or upgrades. They are an excellent way to hone your combat skills and acquire the resources needed to tackle the game's more demanding encounters.
