Visit bars in towns like The Hub, Squin, or Stack. Look for unique recruits with names; they often have higher starting stats or unique dialogue. Generic recruits are cheaper but less skilled. Aim for a squad of 3-5 characters initially. Diversify their roles: some for combat, some for carrying loot, and perhaps one for stealth or thievery. More hands make light work, and a larger squad can handle tougher encounters.
