Embarking on your journey in Last Epoch begins with choosing a class and, eventually, a Mastery. This foundational decision shapes your character's playstyle, abilities, and progression. This guide introduces the available classes and their unique Masteries.

Last Epoch features a distinct class system where players choose a base class and then specialize into one of three Masteries within that class. Each class offers a unique set of core mechanics and starting abilities, while Masteries provide a deeper specialization, unlocking powerful new skills and passive trees. Understanding these choices is crucial for building a character that als with your preferred playstyle.

Base Classes:

There are currently five base classes in Last Epoch, each with its own flavor and gameplay identity:

Class Description
Sentinel A sturdy warrior focused on melee combat, defense, and commanding allies. They excel at protecting themselves and their party.
Rogue A nimble and agile combatant specializing in ranged attacks, traps, and swift melee strikes. They rely on speed and precision.
Acolyte A master of dark arts, summoning undead minions, casting debilitating curses, and wielding potent elemental magic.
Mage A versatile spellcaster who manipulates elemental forces like fire, frost, and lightning, as well as arcane energies.
Primalist A shapeshifter and nature warden who can transform into beasts, command animal companions, and harness the power of the elements.

Masteries:

Once a character reaches a certain level (typically around level 15), they can choose one of three Masteries within their base class. Each Mastery offers a unique specialization, unlocking a new set of skills and a dedicated passive tree.
