Lane priority and wave management are advanced concepts that can significantly impact the flow of a League of Legends game. Understanding how to manipulate minion waves and control lane priority allows you to create opportunities for your team, deny the enemy, and gain a crucial advantage.

Lane priority refers to which side of the map has the advantage in a particular lane, often determined by the state of the minion wave. Having priority means you have more control over the lane, allowing you to push the wave, roam to other lanes, or secure objectives. Wave management, on the other hand, is the art of manipulating the minion waves to your advantage. This can involve freezing the wave near your tower to farm safely, slow pushing to build a large wave that can pressure the enemy tower, or fast pushing to quickly clear the wave and create an opportunity to roam or recall.

Creating Lane Priority:

• Pushing the Wave: Killing enemy minions faster than your opponent allows you to push the wave towards their tower. This forces them to stay in lane to farm or lose gold and experience.
• Minion Advantage: Having more minions in your wave than the enemy's gives you a natural advantage in trades and allows for easier last hitting.
• Objective Control: If your jungler is nearby and you have priority, you can often contest or secure objectives like Dragon or Rift Herald more safely.

Wave Management Techniques:

1. Freezing: To freeze a wave, you want to kill enemy minions only when they are very low health, ensuring that your minions and the enemy minions meet near your tower. This makes it dangerous for the enemy to farm and can set up ganks.
2. Slow Pushing: To slow push, you kill the enemy caster minions quickly while letting your melee minions tank. This allows your minion wave to gradually grow larger as it travels down the lane, creating a powerful siege threat.
3. Fast Pushing: To fast push, you kill all enemy minions as quickly as possible, often using abilities. This clears the wave rapidly, allowing you to roam, recall, or pressure the enemy tower.

Mastering these techniques requires practice and an understanding of your champion's wave-clearing capabilities. For example, a mage with strong AoE abilities can easily fast push, while a champion with sustained damage might be better suited for freezing. The goal is to use wave management to create advantageous situations for yourself and your team, whether it's securing farm, setting up kills, or controlling objectives.
