Character Relationship & Bonding Events
In The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC, fostering strong relationships with your party members is not just for narrative flavor; it can also provide tangible benefits in combat. Throughout the game, you'll encounter various Bonding Events that allow Estelle to spend time with individual party members. Successfully navigating these events can increase Estelle's BP (Bonding Points) with that character, leading to stronger support in battle.
Bonding Events are often triggered by specific story progression points or by choosing certain dialogue options during conversations. The game will usually indicate when a Bonding Event is available, often presenting you with a choice of who to spend time with. Selecting the character you wish to strengthen your bond with will initiate a unique scene, often revealing more about their personality, backstory, or motivations. The dialogue choices you make during these events are critical; choosing the 'correct' or most empathetic responses will yield the most BP.
The benefits of strong bonds are primarily seen in the Support System. Characters with higher BP levels with Estelle can perform more powerful support actions, such as providing additional healing, debuffing enemies more effectively, or even intervening in critical moments to save Estelle from a fatal blow. Some characters may also unlock unique Combined Arts or S-Crafts when their bond with Estelle reaches a certain threshold. Therefore, it's advisable to pay attention to which characters you are spending time with and to make dialogue choices that al with building those relationships. Experimenting with different characters throughout the game can lead to varied combat advantages and a deeper appreciation for the cast.
