Dungeon Mechanics & Puzzles
Navigating dungeons in The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC involves strategic combat and careful item collection. Many dungeons feature branching paths with hidden treasures and monster chests. Prioritize using orbal arts over physical attacks for stronger enemies, and always heal at recovery points when available to conserve resources.
In a basement dungeon, an early intersection appears; ignore the branching path and proceed to fight spiders that drop Lucky Fang, an ingredient for a subquest. Further on, another branching path should be ignored. Continue until you reach a room at the end of the hallway to find an Attack 2. On your way back, retrieve the Reviving Balm from the room above. Return to the intersection, take the left branch, and collect a Teara Balm from the first room. Proceed to a room with three chests: the left contains a Shield 1, the middle an EP Charge, and the right is a monster chest.
Monster Chest Strategy: Puppet Fragger
| Name | Quantity | HP | Weakness |
|---|---|---|---|
| Puppet Fragger | 8 | 1144 | Water |
Equip Feather Brooch on your characters before opening the monster chest to prevent faint. These enemies deal around 200 damage without buffs and can cause faint. Begin with Estelle's Morale and use area-of-effect crafts like Estelle's True Hurricane or Olivier's Quick Draw II. The goal is to lower the HP of most Puppet Fraggers evenly. When one is routed, it uses Death Throes, boosting the strength and speed of the remaining enemies, causing them to deal approximately 500 damage. If Dorothy is present, her camera flash can blind enemies, reducing difficulty. Focus fire on one enemy at a time, despite Death Throes, as the boosts are manageable.
