Fishing & Fish Exchange
Fishing in The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC is a relaxing side activity that can yield valuable rewards. To begin fishing, you'll first need to acquire a Fishing Rod and some Bait. These can typically be purchased from general stores in larger towns or found as quest rewards. Once equipped with the necessary gear, look for bodies of water marked with a fishing icon on your minimap.
When you cast your line, a mini-game will commence. You'll need to reel in the fish by pressing the appropriate button (usually X on PSP or Enter on PC) when the fish bites, indicated by a visual cue and sound effect. Timing is crucial; pressing the button too early or too late can cause the fish to escape. As you progress, you'll encounter different types of fish, some of which are rarer and more challenging to catch. Successfully catching fish will earn you Fishing Points.
These Fishing Points can be exchanged at the Fish Exchange, typically found in major cities like Grancel or Ruan. The Fish Exchange allows you to trade your accumulated points for various items, including powerful accessories, rare crafting materials, and even unique quartz. Some of the most sought-after items are only available through this exchange, making dedicated fishing sessions worthwhile.
Furthermore, certain quests may require you to catch specific types of fish. Keeping an eye on your Bracer Notebook for these quests can provide extra motivation to hone your fishing skills. Different bait types may attract different fish, so experimenting with various baits can increase your chances of catching the desired species. The "Gourmet" accessory, for example, can sometimes be obtained through the Fish Exchange and enhances your fishing success rate.
