Quartz System Overview
The Quartz system is the core of character customization and progression in The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC. By equipping Quartz to a character's Orbment, You can significantly alter their stats, grant them new Arts (magic spells), and provide passive abilities (Skills).
Each character has a limited number of Orbment slots, and the arrangement of these slots (known as the Orbment Grid) affects which Quartz can be equipped together. Certain combinations of Quartz can unlock powerful bonus Arts or Skills. Understanding the Orbment Grid and the synergy between different Quartz is crucial for optimizing your party.
Common Quartz and Their Effects:
- HP Up: Increases maximum HP. Essential for survivability.
- EP Up: Increases maximum EP (used for Arts). Crucial for casters.
- STR Up: Increases Strength, boosting physical attack power.
- DEF Up: Increases Defense, reducing physical damage taken.
- ATS Up: Increases Attack Superiority, boosting magical attack power.
- ADF Up: Increases Anti-Defense, boosting magical defense.
- SPD Up: Increases Speed, affecting turn order in combat and movement range.
- MOV Up: Increases movement range on the battlefield.
- Void: A versatile Quartz that can be used to fill gaps in the Orbment Grid or to slightly boost various stats.
- Aqua/Terra/is/Aero: These elemental Quartz are foundational for casting elemental Arts. Combining them in specific patterns can unlock more powerful spells.
- Heal: Grants the Heal Art, a fundamental healing spell.
- Spark: Grants the Spark Art, an early-game offensive Art.
Experimenting with different Quartz combinations is highly encouraged. Some Quartz can only be obtained through specific quests, monster drops, or by purchasing them from shops. Keep track of the Quartz you find and consider which ones best suit each character's role in your party – whether it's a dedicated healer, a powerful damage dealer, or a support specialist.
