Unlocking Arts with Quartz

Learn to unlock Arts with Quartz in Trails in the Sky SC by understanding Orbment interface and elemental line requirements. Strategically place Quartz for pot.

Unlocking Arts through Quartz is a cornerstone of character progression in Trails in the Sky SC. This process involves strategically placing Quartz within your character's Orbment to meet the elemental line requirements for desired Arts.

  • Orbment Interface: Access the Orbment menu for each character. You'll see their grid of slots and the current elemental line connections.
  • Elemental Requirements: Each Art has specific elemental requirements. For example, the Fire Art 'Crimson Ray' might require a certain number of Fire (F) points and possibly some Wind (Wi) points. These requirements are often displayed in the Arts list or in detailed guides.
  • Placing Quartz: Select a Quartz from your inventory and place it into an available Orbment slot. The game will visually show how this placement affects your elemental lines and stat bonuses.
  • Connecting Lines: The goal is to connect slots containing Quartz in a way that creates the required elemental lines. Sometimes, you'll need to use "Null" or "Void" Quartz to bridge gaps or balance elemental points.
  • Stat Bonuses: As you place Quartz, you'll notice stat increases. These are passive bonuses that contribute to your character's overall effectiveness.
  • Experimentation: Don't be afraid to experiment! You can freely rearrange Quartz (though some Master Quartz might have restrictions). Try different combinations to see what Arts you can unlock and what stat distributions you can achieve.
  • Character Specialization: Some characters are naturally better suited for certain elements due to their Orbment layout. For example, Estelle might have more slots conducive to Earth and Wind Arts, while Kloe might excel with Water and Time Arts.

Prioritize unlocking Arts that complement your party's roles. A healer needs healing Arts, a damage dealer needs offensive Arts, and a support character needs buffing and debuffing Arts.
