New Game+ & Difficulty Settings
Congratulations, Dragon of Dojima! Completing the main story of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth unlocks a wealth of new challenges and opportunities. This section will guide you through maximizing your post-game experience, from tackling tougher difficulties to preparing for New Game+.
Unlocking New Game+ and Premium Adventure
Upon clearing the final chapter, you'll be prompted to create a Clear Save Data. This save file is crucial as it's the key to accessing both Premium Adventure and New Game+.
- Premium Adventure: This mode allows you to continue exploring Honolulu, Isezaki Ijincho, and Kamurocho freely with your current party, levels, and gear. All side content, substories, mini-games, and the Hawaiian Haunt dungeon will remain accessible. This is an excellent opportunity to mop up any missed trophies/achievements, complete character bonds, or grind for powerful gear before embarking on a new playthrough.
- New Game+: To initiate New Game+, load your Clear Save Data from the title screen. You'll then be given the option to start a new game while carrying over various elements from your completed playthrough.
New Game+ Carry-Overs
New Game+ offers a significant advantage by allowing you to retain much of your progress. This is what you can expect to carry over:
- Character Levels and Job Ranks: All characters will retain their current levels and job ranks, including any inherited skills. This means you won't have to start from scratch with character progression.
- Equipped Gear and Inventory: All weapons, armor, accessories, and consumable items in your inventory will transfer. This includes rare crafting materials and powerful endgame equipment.
- Money (Yen): Your entire fortune will carry over, allowing you to purchase expensive gear, upgrade facilities, or invest in mini-games from the start.
- Poundmates: All unlocked Poundmates will be available from the beginning of your New Game+ playthrough.
- Dondoko Island Progress: Your Dondoko Island rank, facilities, and Dondoko Farm progress will carry over, allowing you to continue building your resort empire.
- Sujimon Progress: Your Sujimon team, Sujimon Sensei rank, and unlocked Sujimon will transfer, making Sujimon Battles more accessible early on.
- Aloha Links: All established Aloha Links will remain, providing immediate benefits and relationships in Hawaii.
- Skill Inheritance: Any skills inherited from other jobs will remain available to your characters.
What does NOT carry over: Story progress, substory completion (you'll need to re-do them for rewards), and certain key items tied to specific story events.
Difficulty Settings
New Game+ introduces new difficulty options that significantly alter the gameplay experience. These are designed for players seeking a greater challenge and often come with enhanced rewards.
- Standard (Default): This is the difficulty you experienced in your first playthrough. Enemies have balanced stats and offer a moderate challenge.
- Hard:
- Enemy Stats: Enemies will have increased HP, Attack, and Defense. Expect battles to be longer and require more strategic planning.
- Experience and Money Gain: You'll receive a bonus to both experience points and money earned from battles, compensating for the increased difficulty. This makes grinding for levels and cash more efficient.
- Recommended Preparation: Before tackling Hard, ensure your party is well-equipped with fully upgraded 7-star weapons (e.g., Ultimate Weapon for Ichiban, Dragon's Soul Bat for Kiryu) and high-tier armor. Consider maxing out your favorite jobs for all characters to unlock powerful inherited skills.
- Legend:
- Enemy Stats: This is the ultimate challenge. Enemies will have drastically inflated stats, often capable of one-shotting unprepared party members. Bosses will have new attack patterns or enhanced versions of existing ones.
- Experience and Money Gain: Legend difficulty offers the highest bonuses to experience and money, making it the fastest way to max out character levels and accumulate wealth.
- Item Restrictions: Certain powerful healing items or revival items may be limited in quantity or effectiveness during battles.
- Recommended Preparation: Legend difficulty demands absolute mastery. Aim for max character levels (Level 99), max job ranks (Rank 30) for all preferred jobs, and the absolute best gear available. This includes obtaining and fully upgrading the True Dragon God's Katana for Kiryu and the Legendary Hero's Bat for Ichiban, along with their respective ultimate armor sets. Focus on synergistic party compositions and exploit enemy weaknesses rigorously. Consider stocking up on rare crafting materials like Rainbow Fragments and Shark Fin to create the strongest accessories.
Strategies for Higher Difficulties
- Optimize Job Synergy: Experiment with different job combinations to create powerful synergies. For example, a character with the "Samurai" job's high damage output combined with a "Host" for debuffs and a "Housekeeper" for healing can be incredibly effective.
- Weapon and Armor Upgrades: Prioritize upgrading your best weapons and armor at the Romance Workshop in Honolulu. Don't neglect accessories; items like the Bulletproof Vest or Mystic Earrings can provide crucial stat boosts or resistances.
- Essence Skills: Master and utilize your characters' most powerful Essence Skills. On higher difficulties, these can be game-changers, often turning the tide of a difficult battle.
- Status Effects: Exploit enemy weaknesses to status effects like Burn, Freeze, or Paralysis. These can incapacitate dangerous foes and give your party a much-needed advantage.
- Poundmates: Don't forget your Poundmates! Many offer powerful attacks, healing, or buffs that can be invaluable in tough encounters. Save your most potent Poundmates for boss battles.
- Grinding Spots: For efficient leveling and money gain on Hard and Legend, revisit the Hawaiian Haunt (especially the deeper floors) or engage in high-level Sujimon Battles. The Big Swell area in Hawaii also offers strong enemies for consistent experience.
Embrace the challenge, Dragon of Dojima, and prove your strength once more in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's New Game+!
