Weapons are your primary means of dealing damage in Like a Dragon: Ishin!. There are two main categories: Katanas (for Swordsman and Wild Dancer styles) and Pistols (for Gunman and Wild Dancer styles).
Acquiring Weapons:
- Shops: Various weapon shops throughout Kyo sell basic to mid-tier weapons.
- Blacksmith: The primary method for obtaining powerful weapons is through crafting and upgrading at the Blacksmith.
- Battle Dungeons: Rare weapons can be found as drops or rewards in Battle Dungeons.
- Sub-Stories: Some sub-stories reward unique or powerful weapons.
Weapon Stats:
- Attack: Determines the raw damage output.
- Durability: Weapons lose durability with use and can break if it reaches zero. Broken weapons deal significantly less damage.
- Special Effects: Some weapons have unique properties like increased critical hit chance, elemental damage, or status effects.
Upgrading Weapons:
At the Blacksmith, you can enhance your weapons using various materials and Ryo. Upgrades increase attack power, durability, and can sometimes unlock new special effects. Prioritize upgrading your main weapons for each style you frequently use.
Always keep a backup weapon or repair your current one regularly to avoid being caught with a broken blade in a tough fight. The difference between a basic weapon and a fully upgraded one is substantial.
