The chapter opens with a flashback to Ryoma's childhood. After the cutscene, you'll gain control of Ryoma. Your first objective is to meet with Takechi Hanpeita. Follow the objective marker on your mini-map. The path is straightforward, leading you through the streets of Tosa. Along the way, you'll encounter a group of thugs. This serves as your first combat tutorial. Pay attention to the on-screen prompts for basic attacks, guarding, and dodging. Defeat the thugs to proceed. After the fight, continue towards the objective marker to trigger another cutscene with Takechi. This meeting will introduce you to the Tosa Loyalist Party and their ideals.
