Ancient Hawaiian Artifacts
These rare artifacts are deeply tied to the lore of Hawaii and the game's narrative. There are 15 Ancient Hawaiian Artifacts in total, each offering a significant boost to your character's stats or unlocking unique abilities upon collection. They often require solving environmental puzzles or defeating specific enemies.
- Kamehameha's Lei (Artifact 1):
Location: Mauna Kea Summit, Big Island (accessible after Chapter 7).
Walkthrough: Travel to the Mauna Kea Summit. You'll find a small, overgrown shrine near the observatories. To reveal the Lei, you must first activate three ancient Hawaiian totems scattered around the summit. The first totem is near the easternmost observatory, the second is by the large volcanic rock formation to the north, and the third is hidden within a small cave on the western slope. Activating them in any order will cause the shrine to glow, revealing Kamehameha's Lei. This artifact grants a permanent +10 to all combat stats.
- Pele's Tear (Artifact 2):
Location: Kilauea Volcano, Big Island (accessible after Chapter 9).
Walkthrough: Navigate the treacherous paths of the Kilauea Volcano. Pele's Tear is located at the very edge of the main crater, near a specific lava vent that periodically spouts molten rock. You must time your approach carefully to avoid taking damage. Once at the edge, look for a shimmering obsidian shard embedded in the rock. Interact with it to retrieve Pele's Tear. This artifact provides immunity to burn status effects and a passive health regeneration boost.
- Maui's Hook Fragment (Artifact 3):
Location: Hanauma Bay, O'ahu (accessible after Chapter 4).
Walkthrough: Head to Hanauma Bay. The fragment is submerged deep within the protected coral reef. You'll need to acquire the "Deep Sea Diving Gear" from the Gear Shop in Waikiki (costs 5,000 Yen) before you can reach it. Once equipped, dive into the designated area marked on your map. Navigate through the underwater caves, avoiding aggressive reef sharks. The fragment is guarded by a territorial Giant Moray Eel. Defeat the eel to claim Maui's Hook Fragment. This artifact significantly increases your fishing success rate and grants a bonus to critical hit chance with blunt weapons.
