Gooigi: The Goopy Sidekick

Gooigi is Luigi's green, gooey doppelganger, summoned by pressing the right stick. He possesses all of Luigi's Poltergust abilities but has unique properties. Gooigi can pass through spikes, grates, and narrow pipes, making him essential for many puzzles and reaching inaccessible areas. However, he is vulnerable to fire and water, which can dissolve him. This vulnerability means players must be strategic when using Gooigi in environments with these hazards. For instance, in areas with steam vents or puddles, Luigi must clear the hazard before Gooigi can safely traverse. Gooigi can also be used to hold down switches or distract ghosts while Luigi performs other actions, adding a layer of tactical depth to gameplay. His ability to merge with Luigi allows them to overcome certain obstacles together, such as passing through tight squeezes or activating dual-pressure plates. Mastering the quick switching between Luigi and Gooigi, as well as coordinating their actions, is key to solving many of the hotel's intricate puzzles and uncovering hidden secrets. The Poltergust G-00's functionalities, such as the Suction Shot and Strobulb, are also available to Gooigi, allowing him to interact with the environment and engage with spectral foes in his own unique way. This dual-character mechanic significantly expands the possibilities for exploration and combat within the Last Resort Hotel.
