In Madden NFL 24's Franchise mode, the careers of your virtual athletes are not infinite. Player retirement is a natural part of the game, reflecting the realities of professional sports. As players age, their attributes decline, and eventually, they will hang up their cleats, leaving behind a legacy that you, as the franchise manager, will shape and remember.

The retirement process is tied to a player's age and declining attributes. As players enter their mid-to-late 30s, you'll notice a gradual decrease in their physical and skill-based ratings. This prompts strategic decisions about whether to keep them on the roster for their leadership or experience, or to move on and make way for younger talent. Eventually, players will reach a point where they retire, either voluntarily or by being cut due to their diminished capabilities.

Attribute Decline: A noticeable drop in key attributes like Speed, Agility, Strength, and specific skill ratings (e.g., Throw Power, Catching, Tackling).

Age: Players typically begin to decline in their mid-30s, with retirement becoming more common in their late 30s and early 40s.
Contract Status: As players age and their ratings decrease, their contract value may also drop, making them more expendable.
