Usering a defender, typically a linebacker or safety, can dramatically improve your defense. Instead of letting the AI control everyone, take control of a player in a key zone or a blitzing defender. Focus on covering passing lanes, making open-field tackles, and getting pressure on the quarterback. When tackling, use the 'Hit Stick' (Right Stick up/down) for big hits and potential fumbles, but be careful not to miss. Practice strafing and pursuit angles to become a lockdown user defender.
