Firearms are your primary means of defense and offense in Mafia: The Old Country. The game features several period-accurate weapons, each with distinct characteristics. Pistols like the Colt 1911 are reliable sidearms, good for close to medium range. Shotguns, such as the Pump-Action Shotgun, are devastating at close quarters but have limited range. Submachine Guns, like the iconic Thompson 1928 (Tommy Gun), offer high rates of fire and are excellent for suppressing multiple enemies. Rifles, such as the Springfield 1903, provide long-range accuracy but are slower to fire. Always consider the engagement distance and enemy numbers when selecting your weapon. Ammunition is finite, so aim for headshots to conserve rounds. You can carry one pistol, one two-handed weapon (shotgun, SMG, rifle), and a limited number of explosives.
