Soft Drifting is a nuanced technique in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe that allows for finer control during drifts, particularly in situations where a full, aggressive drift would cause the kart to lose too much speed or veer too wide. The core of this technique involves making subtle adjustments with the left analog stick during a drift. By slightly nudging the stick in the direction of the turn or even momentarily straightening it, a player can maintain a tighter racing line through a corner while still successfully charging a mini-turbo.
