Big Bob-omb is the boss of Mission Mode Level 2. He's a giant Bob-omb that patrols a small, circular arena. Your goal is to hit him with his own Bob-ombs.

Phases & Strategy:
- Phase 1 (Patrol & Drop): Big Bob-omb will slowly patrol the arena, occasionally dropping smaller Bob-ombs behind him.
- Collecting Bob-ombs: Drive over the smaller Bob-ombs he drops to pick them up.
- Attacking Big Bob-omb: Once you have a Bob-omb, throw it at Big Bob-omb. A direct hit will cause him to momentarily stop and flash.
- Repeat: Continue collecting and throwing Bob-ombs until he is defeated. He will speed up slightly after a few hits.
- Avoid Explosions: The Bob-ombs you throw, and the ones he drops, will explode. Make sure you're not caught in the blast radius.
Weakness:
- Bob-ombs: Only Bob-ombs can damage Big Bob-omb.
Tips:
- Aim Carefully: Throw the Bob-ombs directly at Big Bob-omb. Leading your shot slightly can help if he's moving.
- Stay Clear: After throwing a Bob-omb, quickly move away to avoid the explosion.
- Circle Him: Drive in a circular pattern around Big Bob-omb to easily collect the dropped Bob-ombs and set up your shots.
Big Bob-omb requires good aim and awareness of explosions. Don't rush your throws; a missed Bob-omb is a wasted opportunity.
While he initially debuted as a boss in the DS entry, the King Bob-omb later joined Mario Kart Tour as a playable High-End driver with the Giga Bob-omb special.
While Big Bob-omb relies on simple explosives here, he later uses a more vertical, gravity-defying strategy during his boss encounters throughout the cosmic reaches of Super Mario Galaxy.
