Game Modes Explained
  • Grand Prix: The main single-player mode. Compete in cups against CPU opponents across various CC classes (50cc, 100cc, 150cc, Mirror) to unlock characters and karts. This is where you'll spend most of your time initially.
  • Time Trials: Race against the clock to set the fastest lap times on each track. Collect three mushrooms per race to use for speed boosts. You can also race against ghost data, including your own best times or downloaded ghosts.
  • VS. Race: Customize your own races. Choose tracks, rules (teams, items), and CPU difficulty. Great for practicing specific tracks or having fun with friends via local wireless.
  • Battle: Engage in chaotic arena battles.
    • Balloon Battle: Pop opponents' balloons while protecting your own.
    • Shine Runners: Collect and hold onto the most Shine Sprites when time runs out.
  • Mission Mode: A unique single-player mode with specific objectives to complete, ranging from collecting coins to defeating bosses. This mode is excellent for improving specific skills and unlocking content.
  • Multiplayer: (Local Wireless & Wi-Fi Connection - Wi-Fi now defunct) Race or battle against other players. Local wireless is still a fantastic way to play with nearby friends.

Start with Grand Prix to unlock content, then explore Time Trials and Mission Mode to refine your racing techniques.
