King Boo is the boss of Mission Mode Level 5. You'll face him in a dark, circular arena. Your objective is to hit him with Bob-ombs, but he's often invisible.
Phases & Strategy:
- Phase 1 (Invisible & Attack): King Boo will mostly be invisible, occasionally appearing to attack you by charging or dropping items.
- Collecting Bob-ombs: Item boxes around the arena will provide Bob-ombs.
- Revealing King Boo: To hit King Boo, you first need to make him visible. This happens when he attacks or when you hit him with a non-damaging item (like a Green Shell, though Bob-ombs are the primary damage source).
- Attacking King Boo: Once King Boo is visible, throw a Bob-omb at him. A direct hit will cause him to recoil and briefly stay visible.
- Repeat: Continue hitting him with Bob-ombs. He will become more aggressive and stay invisible for longer periods as he takes damage.
- Avoid Attacks: Dodge his charges and the items he drops.
Weakness:
- Bob-ombs: Only Bob-ombs can damage King Boo.
Tips:
- Listen for Cues: King Boo makes a distinct sound when he's about to appear or attack.
- Anticipate Appearance: Try to predict where he'll appear to get a Bob-omb ready.
- Don't Waste Bob-ombs: Only throw Bob-ombs when he's visible.
King Boo is a tricky boss due to his invisibility. Patience and good timing with your Bob-ombs are key to victory.
