Shroom Ridge is a mountain road track with civilian cars and tight turns. This track requires careful navigation and awareness of traffic, making it one of the more challenging early tracks.
- Civilian Cars: Other vehicles drive on the road. Hitting them will cause you to spin out. Anticipate their movements and weave through traffic. They drive on the right side of the road, so staying on the left can sometimes be safer.
- Tight Turns: Shroom Ridge has many sharp, winding turns. Mastering the mini-turbo is crucial for maintaining speed. Practice initiating drifts early and holding them.
- No Shortcuts: Unlike many other tracks, Shroom Ridge has very few, if any, significant shortcuts. The focus is on clean driving and navigating traffic.
- Item Boxes: Item boxes are placed along the main road. Red Shells are excellent for clearing traffic ahead, and Stars can make you invincible to cars.
- Boost Panels: There are a few boost panels on the track, particularly on the straightaways.
- Cliff Edges: Be careful not to drive off the cliff edges, as this will result in a fall and a time penalty.
Shroom Ridge is a test of your driving precision and ability to navigate obstacles. Focus on avoiding traffic and hitting your mini-turbos on the tight turns.
