The Piranha Plant is the boss of Mission Mode Level 3. You'll face a giant Piranha Plant in a small, muddy arena. Your objective is to hit its head with Green Shells.
Phases & Strategy:
- Phase 1 (Attacks): The Piranha Plant will pop out of its pipe and try to bite you. It will also spit mud balls that slow you down if they hit.
- Collecting Green Shells: Item boxes around the arena will provide Green Shells.
- Attacking Piranha Plant: When the Piranha Plant's head is exposed, throw a Green Shell directly at it. A direct hit will cause it to recoil.
- Repeat: Continue hitting its head with Green Shells until it is defeated. The Piranha Plant will become more aggressive with its bites and mud spits as it takes damage.
- Avoid Mud: The arena is muddy, which slows you down. Try to stay on the slightly elevated paths if possible, but you'll often need to drive through mud to get items or position for a shot.
Weakness:
- Green Shells: Only Green Shells can damage the Piranha Plant.
Tips:
- Timing Shots: Wait for the Piranha Plant to fully extend its head before throwing a Green Shell for the best chance of a hit.
- Dodge Bites: Observe its biting pattern and steer clear.
- Prioritize Items: Always go for item boxes to ensure you have Green Shells ready.
The Piranha Plant boss requires good timing and accurate Green Shell throws. Don't get too close, and be patient with your attacks.
