Mario Kart Tour offers two primary control schemes: Smart Steering and Manual Drift. Smart Steering is enabled by default and automatically steers your kart to prevent you from falling off the track, making it ideal for beginners. However, it limits your ability to perform advanced maneuvers. Manual Drift is the preferred control scheme for experienced players. To enable it, go to 'Menu' > 'Settings' > 'Controls'. With Manual Drift, you steer by sliding your finger left or right on the screen. To drift, slide and hold your finger. Holding a drift for a sufficient duration will grant you a Mini-Turbo, indicated by sparks around your kart. A yellow spark is a Mini-Turbo, a blue spark is a Super Mini-Turbo, and a pink spark is an Ultra Mini-Turbo. Mastering drifting is crucial for maintaining speed and gaining boosts.
