Unlockable Characters:
- King Boo: Get a Star Rank or higher in the 50cc Star Cup.
- Diddy Kong: Get a Gold Trophy in the 50cc Lightning Cup.
- Baby Daisy: Get a Star Rank or higher in all 50cc Wii Grand Prix cups.
- Dry Bones: Get a Gold Trophy in the 100cc Leaf Cup.
- Bowser Jr.: Get a Star Rank or higher in the 100cc Mushroom Cup.
- Daisy: Get a Gold Trophy in the 150cc Special Cup.
- Funky Kong: Unlock 4 Expert Staff Ghosts in Time Trials.
- Baby Luigi: Unlock 8 Expert Staff Ghosts in Time Trials.
- Toadette: Play 1,000 races or get a Star Rank or higher in all 100cc Retro Grand Prix cups.
- Mii Outfit A: Win a Gold Trophy in the 100cc Special Cup.
- Mii Outfit B: Unlock all 32 Expert Staff Ghosts in Time Trials.
- Rosalina: Have a Super Mario Galaxy save file and win a certain number of races, or get a Star Rank or higher in all Mirror Grand Prix cups.
Unlockable Vehicles:
Each vehicle has specific unlock conditions, usually tied to winning Gold Trophies in certain Grand Prix cups or beating Staff Ghosts in Time Trials. For example, the Blue Falcon (Kart) is unlocked by getting a Gold Trophy in the Mirror Lightning Cup. The Mach Bike (Bike) is unlocked by getting a Gold Trophy in the 150cc Flower Cup. The Flame Runner (Bike) is unlocked by getting a Gold Trophy in the 150cc Special Cup. There are 12 unlockable karts and 12 unlockable bikes. Consult the in-game license screen for precise requirements for each individual vehicle.
