Phase 1: Illusions & Distractions
Daphne is a tricky boss on Palette Prime, known for creating illusions and summoning Darkmess clones. In her first phase, Daphne will create several copies of herself. Only one is the 'real' Daphne, while the others are illusions that deal reduced damage or no damage at all. The real Daphne often has a subtle visual cue (e.g., a slightly different glow, a unique animation, or a specific elemental aura). Your primary objective is to identify and attack the real Daphne. Heroes with area-of-effect attacks can be useful for hitting multiple targets and potentially revealing the real one. Daphne will also summon Wildclaws and Supporters. Prioritize taking out Supporters to prevent them from healing Daphne or her illusions. Use elemental Sparks to exploit any weaknesses Daphne might have, which can sometimes be revealed by her aura. Keep your team mobile to avoid her attacks and position for optimal shots.
Phase 2: Enhanced Abilities & Vulnerability
Once you've dealt enough damage to the real Daphne, she will become more aggressive and might reveal new abilities, such as powerful ranged attacks or the ability to teleport more frequently. She might also summon more durable or numerous illusions. Continue to focus on identifying and attacking the real Daphne. She might have a temporary vulnerability window after certain attacks or after her illusions are defeated. Use your strongest single-target damage dealers like Luigi or Mario to maximize damage during these windows. Rabbid Peach's Team Barrier (if Peach is in your party) can be invaluable for mitigating damage from Daphne's enhanced attacks. Be prepared for a prolonged fight that requires careful observation and precise targeting. Don't waste turns attacking illusions if you can identify the real target.
