Upon landing on Beacon Beach, you'll immediately be thrust into the 'A Foul Wind Blows' quest. Your first task is to follow Beep-0 to the source of the Darkmess. This involves a few simple movement puzzles and interactions with the environment. You'll encounter your first combat tutorial, teaching you about movement ranges, cover, and basic attacks. Focus on using your heroes' primary weapons and understanding the concept of 'dash' attacks to deal extra damage before shooting. The enemies here are mostly Goombas and basic Stooges, which are easily defeated. After a few skirmishes, you'll reach a Darkmess Puddle. Interacting with it will trigger a more substantial battle, introducing you to the concept of turn order and hero techniques. Ensure you use Mario's Hero Sight and Rabbid Peach's healing technique when available. Completing this quest will unlock the ability to equip Sparks.
