Each hero has five primary gear slots and two artifact slots that contribute to their overall Power Level and provide various stat bonuses and perks. Understanding what each slot does is the first step to optimizing your build.
Primary Gear Slots:
- Melee Gear: Enhances your hero's close-quarters combat abilities. Often provides Might and Valor.
- Ranged Gear: Boosts your hero's projectile and ranged attacks. Often provides Precision and Valor.
- Defense Gear: Improves your hero's survivability. Often provides Resilience and Resolve.
- Heroic Gear: Enhances your hero's intrinsic and heroic abilities. Often provides Valor and Intensity.
- Minor Artifact: Provides significant stat boosts and can be upgraded. You can equip two Minor Artifacts.
Artifact Slots:
- Major Artifact: A powerful, unique artifact that provides substantial stat bonuses and often a unique passive effect. Only one can be equipped.
The Power Level of your equipped gear directly contributes to your hero's overall Power Level. Always aim to equip gear with a higher Power Level, even if the perks aren't perfect, to unlock access to more challenging content. Once you reach the Power Level cap, you can then focus on optimizing perks and stats.
