Upgrade Process:

  1. Gear Upgrade: You can upgrade a piece of gear up to 10 Power Levels above its base level. This costs various resources (Units, Upgrade Modules, Polychoron, DNA Keys).
  2. Perk Reroll: Some gear allows you to reroll one of its perks for a different one, costing specific resources. This is useful for fine-tuning your build.
  3. Artifact Upgrades: Minor and Major Artifacts can be upgraded to significantly increase their Power Level and stat bonuses. This requires Polychoron and Units.

Key Resources:

  • Units: General currency, earned from missions, chests, and dismantling gear. Used for vendor purchases and some upgrades.
  • Upgrade Modules: Common resource for upgrading gear. Earned from missions and dismantling gear.
  • Polychoron: Rare resource primarily used for upgrading Artifacts and high-tier gear. Earned from daily/weekly challenges and Faction Missions.
  • DNA Keys: Used to open DNA Chests, which contain high-tier gear and resources. Earned from Villain Sectors.
  • Uru: Used for upgrading specific gear types.
  • Plasma, Pym, Gamma, Cryo, Shock Samples: Used for crafting and upgrading gear with specific status effects.

Prioritize upgrading your Major and Minor Artifacts, as they provide universal Power Level boosts. Only upgrade primary gear pieces that have desirable perks and a high Power Level. Dismantle unwanted gear to reclaim some resources. Regularly check your resource counts and plan your upgrades strategically to avoid running out of critical materials.
