Praetorian
The Praetorian is a formidable and heavily armored Collector creature encountered on Horizon during the mission "The Collector Attack." It stands out as one of the most dangerous enemies Shepard will face, possessing a powerful biotic barrier that acts as its primary defense. This barrier is incredibly resilient and must be stripped before significant damage can be dealt to the Praetorian's health. The Praetorian also boasts a devastating area-of-effect attack that can quickly incapacitate or kill unprotected squadmates. To effectively combat the Praetorian, players must focus on rapidly stripping its shields. Abilities like Overload, which targets shields and synthetics, or Disruptor Ammo, which deals bonus damage to shields and barriers, are essential. Once the shields are down, the Praetorian becomes vulnerable to direct damage. Powers like Incinerate, which deals damage over time to armor, or Warp, which weakens armor and barriers, are highly effective. Maintaining distance is crucial to avoid its powerful biotic attacks, and utilizing cover to break line of sight is a key survival tactic. Squadmates with strong shield-damaging abilities, such as Miranda or Jack, are invaluable assets when facing this challenging foe.
