Biotic Combos (Explosions)
Biotic Combos are the cornerstone of biotic gameplay. They involve priming an enemy with one biotic power (e.g., Warp, Singularity) and then detonating that effect with another (e.g., Throw, Shockwave). These combos deal significant bonus damage and can have additional effects like stunning or knocking enemies down. Mastering the sequence of priming and detonating is key to maximizing biotic effectiveness. Different combinations yield different results; for instance, a Warp + Throw combo is excellent for single-target damage, while a Singularity + Shockwave can clear out groups.
Tech Combos
Similar to biotic combos, tech powers can also be combined for enhanced effects. For example, using Overload to strip shields and then detonating it with Incinerate can deal bonus damage and apply a burning effect. Tech combos are particularly effective against synthetic enemies and shielded targets. Powers like Incinerate, Overload, and Sabotage can be used to prime and detonate tech effects.
Power Synergies with Squadmates
Choosing squadmates whose powers complement Shepard's abilities is crucial. If Shepard is a biotic, bringing a squadmate with strong tech powers can provide a balanced offensive and defensive capability. Conversely, a tech-focused Shepard might benefit from biotic squadmates to control the battlefield. For example, pairing Garrus's Overload with Shepard's Incinerate can quickly neutralize shielded enemies. Liara's Singularity can group enemies, setting them up for area-of-effect powers from Shepard or another squadmate.
Weapon and Power Integration
integrate your weapon usage with your powers. For instance, priming an enemy with a biotic power before engaging with a high-damage weapon can lead to a swift takedown. Conversely, using a powerful weapon to stagger an enemy can create an opening for a biotic or tech power. Some weapon mods can also enhance power effects, creating further synergistic opportunities.
