Exploration and Scanning
In Mass Effect 3, exploration and scanning are crucial for uncovering hidden missions and resources. Many minor missions, indicated by italicized names, are completed by scanning planets, engaging in conversations, or finding specific items during other missions. Pay close attention to mission timings, as some are progress-sensitive.
Side missions not completed before the main plot mission Priority: Cerberus Headquarters will become inaccessible. This emphasizes the importance of timely completion for all optional content.
- Progress-Sensitive Missions: Some missions, like Eden Prime: Resistance Movement, must be completed during your first and only visit to a location.
- Prerequisite Missions: Certain missions, such as Shrike Abyssal: Prothean Obelisk, cannot be undertaken until a specific main mission, like Priority: Palaven, has been finished.
