Husks

Husks are the most common Reaper ground unit, former organic beings horrifically mutated and controlled by Reaper technology. They are fast, numerous, and attack in swarms, often overwhelming unprepared squads through sheer numbers. While individually weak, their relentless assault can be deadly. They are particularly vulnerable to explosives and area-of-effect attacks.

Cannibals

Cannibals are another common Reaper unit, distinguished by their ability to cling to surfaces and their more aggressive, mutated forms. They can attack from unexpected angles, making them a persistent threat. They possess a ranged attack and can close the distance quickly. Like Husks, they are susceptible to concentrated fire and area-of-effect abilities.

Geth

The Geth are a networked intelligence of synthetic beings. In Mass Effect 3, they are divided, with some factions siding with the Reapers and others seeking independence. Geth units range from basic troopers with energy weapons to heavily armored Juggernauts and rocket-equipped Hunters. They often employ shields and coordinated tactics, making them dangerous at range.

Cerberus Forces

Cerberus, the pro-human organization, becomes a major antagonist in Mass Effect 3. Their forces include highly trained soldiers, combat robots, and specialized units like the Cerberus Trooper, Engineer, and Assault Trooper. They are well-equipped, often utilizing advanced weaponry and tactical armor. Cerberus also deploys powerful mechs and cybernetically enhanced individuals.

Reaper Units

Beyond the basic Husks and Cannibals, the Reapers themselves deploy specialized units. These include Marauders, who are heavily armored and wield powerful assault cannons, and Brutes, massive, mutated creatures that charge and smash through defenses. The Reapers also deploy advanced synthetic units and, in some cases, directly control massive war machines.

Harvesters

Harvesters are large, flying Reaper units that deploy smaller Reaper units onto the battlefield. They are heavily armored and possess powerful beam weapons. Their primary threat is their ability to continuously reinforce enemy positions, making them a high-priority target.

Collectors

While less prevalent than in Mass Effect 2, Collectors can still appear, often in the service of Cerberus. They are known for their advanced technology, including biotic abilities and energy weapons. Their elite units, like the Praetorian, are exceptionally dangerous.
