The Citadel and Its Significance
The Citadel serves as a central hub in Mass Effect 3, offering various services, missions, and opportunities for Commander Shepard. From purchasing fish for your cabin's aquarium to acquiring crucial upgrades and war assets, the Citadel is vital for preparing for the war against the Reapers. Many important NPCs and stores are located here.
- Fish Collection: Purchase edible or decorative fish from various stores on the Citadel to display in Commander Shepard's personal cabin on the Normandy. An upgrade module for the fish tank, which automatically feeds and cares for fish, can be bought at the Elkoss Combine Arsenal Supplies terminal in the Presidium Commons for 25,000 credits.
- Ship Models: Six new ship models are available for purchase on the Citadel for 1,000 credits each after completing Priority Missions.
- Side Quests & War Assets:
- N7: Cerberus Lab: Find a gel in a room at the center of the research facility (right-hand entrance, look left, up stairs, right into small room). Give it to Dr. Ravin in the Citadel hospital for 30 XP, 1,000 Credits, and the War Asset - Hanar and Drell Forces.
- Amp Interface Data: Retrieve data from a terminal and return it to the Asari in the Citadel medical bay for 30 XP, 3,000 Credits, +5 Reputation points, and an improved War Asset - Citadel Defence Force.
- E-Gel Thermal Conduit: Engineer Adams on the Normandy requests this part. Purchase it at the Elkoss Combine Arsenal Supplies kiosk at the Bank in the Presidium Commons for 1,000 Credits, or order it from a Normandy terminal for 1,100 Credits. Rewards +5 Reputation Points.
- Advanced Biotic Implants: A scientist in the Citadel Hospital needs prototype parts. Fly to the Ismar Frontier galaxy, then the Aquila solar system, and find the implants on planet Metaponto. Returning them to the scientist (opposite your injured colleague) grants 90 XP.
- Scanning for War Assets: The Asgard solar system holds multiple hidden items.
- Scan North of Tyr and Borr to highlight both and a fuel depot (250 Units of Fuel).
- Tyr: Contains the War Asset - Alliance Naval Exploration Flotilla.
- Borr: Holds the remains of a Reaper Destroyer, offering either 5% off Citadel purchases or +5% Power Recharge Speed.
- Terra Nova: (South-East of its sun) Hides the War Asset - Alliance Cruiser Shanghai.
- Loki: Contains the War Asset - Alliance Spec Ops Team Delta.
- Castellus: A fuel wreck (350 units of fuel) is located near the far-right of the solar system. Scanning and probing planet Digeris also yields rewards.
