Squad Management

Your squadmates are more than just cannon fodder; they are invaluable assets in combat and provide crucial narrative depth. Effective squad management is key to overcoming the challenges of the galaxy.

Understand Roles: Each squadmate has a distinct class and set of abilities. For instance, Garrus is a reliable Soldier with strong weapon damage, while Liara is a powerful Biotic. Learn their strengths and weaknesses to form a balanced team for each mission.
Ability Synergy: Look for abilities that complement each other. Combining a biotic "Lift" with a tech "Overload" can strip enemy shields and leave them vulnerable. Experiment with different combinations to find powerful synergies.
Gear Them Up: Don't neglect your squadmates' equipment! Always ensure they have the best available weapons and armor. A well-equipped squadmate can sificantly increase your team's overall effectiveness.
Tactical Commands: Utilize the tactical command wheel (default: Spacebar on PC, L1/LB on console) to direct your squad. Positioning them strategically, telling them to focus fire, or using their specific abilities at the right moment can turn the tide of battle.
Loyalty Matters: In Mass Effect 2 and 3, completing loyalty missions unlocks powerful new abilities for your squadmates and can be crucial for their survival during critical moments.
