These are essential for crafting your first tools. Look for berry bushes (e.g., Red Berries) and mushrooms to stave off hunger. Find a water source (river or lake) to drink from. Your first major goal should be to build a simple shelter. Open the building menu (Q), navigate to 'Buildings' -> 'Houses', and select the 'Small Simple House'. You'll need Logs (chopped from trees with an axe) and Sticks. Once the foundation is laid, you'll need to gather more materials to complete the walls and roof. A basic shelter provides warmth, protection from the elements, and a place to save your game. craft a Stone Axe and Stone Pickaxe as soon as possible using your gathered sticks and stones at a crafting table or in your inventory (press 'C' for crafting).
