Side Quests List & Rewards

Beyond the main story and the daily grind of building your dynasty, the world of Medieval Dynasty is rich with optional side quests. These quests offer valuable rewards, deepen your understanding of the local lore, and provide opportunities to hone your skills. This section details common side quest types, specific examples, and the lucrative rewards you can expect.

General Side Quest Types

  • Hunting Quests: Villagers often require specific animal pelts or meat. These are excellent for practicing your hunting skills and earning some coin or resources.
  • Gathering Quests: From specific herbs to certain types of wood or stone, these quests send you into the wilderness to collect resources. They're great for exploring and stocking up your own inventory.
  • Crafting Quests: Sometimes a villager needs a specific tool, piece of clothing, or food item crafted. These quests encourage you to utilize your crafting stations and recipes.
  • Delivery Quests: Simple tasks involving transporting items from one NPC to another, often across different villages. These are good for familiarizing yourself with the map.
  • Problem Solving Quests: Less common, but these quests might involve investigating a strange sound, finding a lost item, or dealing with a minor threat.

Detailed Side Quest Walkthroughs

1. The Hunter's Request: Boar Hides for Borowo

Quest Giver: Dobromir, Hunter in Borowo.

Objective: Bring 3 Boar Hides to Dobromir.

Walkthrough:

  1. Accept the Quest: Speak with Dobromir in Borowo. He's usually found near the hunting lodge or the central fire pit.
  2. Locate Boars: Boars are common in the forests surrounding Borowo, particularly to the east and south. Look for their distinctive snorting sounds and rooting marks on the ground. A good starting point is the dense forest area southeast of Borowo, near the river bend.
  3. Hunt Boars: Equip a spear, bow, or axe. Boars are aggressive, especially if you get too close.
    • Strategy 1 (Melee): If using a spear or axe, aim for headshots. Be prepared to dodge their charge. A single well-placed spear throw can often incapacitate them.
    • Strategy 2 (Ranged): A bow and stone arrows are effective. Try to get a few shots in before they notice you, or find a higher vantage point.
Remember to skin the boars after defeating them to obtain the Boar Hides. You'll need a knife for this.
  4. Return to Dobromir: Once you have 3 Boar Hides in your inventory, return to Dobromir in Borowo to complete the quest.

Rewards:

  • 500 Coins
  • +15 Dynasty Reputation
  • 10 Food (Dried Meat)
  • Increased relationship with Dobromir.

2. Herbalist's Need: St. John's Wort for Gostovia

Quest Giver: Alwin, Herbalist in Gostovia.

Objective: Gather 10 St. John's Wort and deliver them to Alwin.

Walkthrough:

  1. Accept the Quest: Find Alwin in Gostovia, typically near his small hut or the village well.
  2. Locate St. John's Wort: St. John's Wort is a distinctive yellow-flowered plant. It grows abundantly in open fields and along forest edges. A reliable spot is the large field directly west of Gostovia, stretching towards the river. You can also find it frequently on the path leading from Gostovia to Branica.
  3. Gather the Herbs: Simply walk up to the plants and press the interaction key to gather them. No tools are required. Ensure you collect all 10.
  4. Return to Alwin: Once you have 10 St. John's Wort, return to Alwin in Gostovia to hand them over.

Rewards:

  • 350 Coins
  • +10 Dynasty Reputation
  • 2 Healing Poultices
  • Increased relationship with Alwin.

3. Lost Axe of Denica

Quest Giver: Uniegost, Farmer in Denica.

Objective: Find Uniegost's lost Stone Axe.

Walkthrough:

  1. Accept the Quest: Speak with Uniegost in Denica. He'll be complaining about losing his axe while working. He's usually found near the fields or his house.
  2. Search Area: Uniegost mentions he lost it "somewhere near the northern fields." Head to the fields directly north of Denica. The axe is usually located near a large rock formation or a fallen tree trunk within this field area. It can be a bit tricky to spot, so keep your eyes peeled for a small, grey item on the ground.
  3. Retrieve the Axe: Once you locate the Stone Axe, pick it up.
  4. Return to Uniegost: Bring the Stone Axe back to Uniegost in Denica.

Rewards:

  • 200 Coins
  • +5 Dynasty Reputation
  • 10 Logs (Birch)
  • Increased relationship with Uniegost.
