Arsenal Gear Boss Strategy
The confrontation with Arsenal Gear is not a traditional boss fight in the sense of a single, heavily armored enemy. Instead, it's a climactic sequence that tests your mastery of stealth, evasion, and combat within a highly dynamic and dangerous environment. Arsenal Gear itself is a colossal, mobile fortress, and your objective is to survive its onslaught and disable its core systems.
Throughout this phase, you'll primarily be playing as Raiden, often disarmed or with limited weaponry. The key to survival is constant movement and utilizing the environment for cover. Arsenal Gear's primary offensive capabilities include powerful energy blasts, missile barrages, and the deployment of numerous smaller combat units, such as the Tengu commandos and Metal Gear RAY units. You'll need to be adept at dodging incoming fire and quickly finding new positions to avoid being overwhelmed.
When faced with the Tengu commandos, utilize any available firearms or hand-to-hand combat skills to dispatch them efficiently. Prioritize targets that pose the most immediate threat. The Metal Gear RAY units are more resilient and require focused fire. Aim for their weak points, such as their sensor arrays or weapon systems, to disable them quickly. Remember to utilize any cover provided by the environment, such as debris or structural elements, to break line of sight and reload or heal.
There are specific moments where you'll need to interact with the environment to progress or disable parts of Arsenal Gear. This might involve shooting specific targets to open pathways or trigger events. Pay close attention to the on-screen prompts and the guidance from your support team, as they will often hint at the next course of action. The sheer scale and intensity of this encounter are designed to be overwhelming, so maintaining composure and executing your learned stealth and combat tactics under pressure is crucial for success.
