Disarming Enemies
Disarming enemies is a critical tactic for maintaining stealth and reducing the immediate threat posed by armed guards. Instead of engaging in a full-blown firefight, which can quickly escalate and compromise your mission, learning to disarm opponents allows you to neutralize their offensive capabilities without necessarily killing them.
The primary method for disarming enemies involves using CQC. When you have an enemy in a hold, you can often perform a specific action to take their weapon. This might involve:
- Weapon Takeaway: A direct action within the CQC system designed to snatch the firearm from an enemy's grasp. This is often a quick and efficient way to disarm.
- Throwing and Grabbing: Sometimes, a well-timed throw can cause an enemy to drop their weapon. You can then quickly move in to pick it up or simply leave it behind.
- Stunning and Retrieving: If you stun an enemy, you might have a brief window to approach them and take their weapon before they recover.
The type of weapon an enemy carries can influence the disarming process. Guards armed with rifles might be more difficult to disarm than those with pistols. Furthermore, some enemies might be equipped with non-lethal weapons, which still require neutralization but pose a different kind of threat. Successfully disarming enemies not only makes your path clearer but also denies them the ability to alert their comrades, preserving the element of surprise.
