Pupa is one of the first major AI weapons you'll face. It's a large, tank-like machine with electric attacks. Your primary goal is to destroy its AI pod or capture it non-lethally.
Phase 1: Initial Assault
Pupa will primarily use electric discharges and a charge attack. Stay mobile and use the environment (containers, walls) for cover. Its weak point is the large battery pack on its rear. Use assault rifles, machine guns, or rocket launchers to target this. When it charges, dodge out of the way. After taking some damage, it will often become temporarily stunned, exposing its AI pod.
Phase 2: AI Pod Exposure
When Pupa is stunned, its AI pod (a glowing core) will be exposed on its top. This is your window to deal significant damage. For a lethal kill, continue firing with your most powerful weapons. For a non-lethal capture, switch to a tranquilizer gun (Mk. 22 or Mosin Nagant) and shoot the AI pod. You'll need to hit it multiple times. Be quick, as the window is short.
Recommended Loadout:
- Lethal: M16A1 (upgraded), M1 Bazooka/RPG-7, Grenades.
- Non-Lethal: Mk. 22 (upgraded), Mosin Nagant, Stun Grenades.
- Items: Rations, First Aid Kits, Supply Marker (essential for ammo).
